Name: Susan Bame, Joseph Maurer, Carrie Collonge and Business Office Team
Core Values: Collaboration and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Reason: In a collective effort to assist a PCE evening student with an unforeseen financial need for this term’s enrollment fee, RCC was able to pay for them utilizing emergency funds from the Advocacy and Resource Center at RCC. From the instructor’s initial genuine concern and request for options to help this student, to internal departments identifying qualified funding, learning new processes between departments and all doing so around varied work schedules, this was definitely a team effort. Since our program is non-credit, we are also not financial aid eligible. This removed a huge barrier and stress from this student’s plate to continue attending evening classes and I am grateful to Carrie Collonge, Susan Bame, Joseph Maurer and those in the Business Office who played a part in making this happen.
