Recognizing: Milla Van Duijn

Core Values: Integrity

Because: Milla is excellent at her job, considerate of her teammates and fellow staff members, and communicates clearly. She is responsible and takes the time to communicate clearly so things run smoothly. Her positive attitude is appreciated!

Recognizing: Jaci Jones

Core Values: Collaboration, Courage

Because: Jaci is open to collaborate with other Rogue Central departments to ensure student employees receive adequate and accurate information to convey to students and other visitors. It takes the burden off of the other departments when student employees can answer basic questions accurately.

Recognizing: Santiago Palma

Core Values: Collaboration, Sustainability, Courage

Because: I recently met with a student who was coming back to college for the first time in 10 years. I looked at their class schedule and realized they may be starting off on the wrong foot and may need to talk to an ACC. Santiago immediately helped the student adjust their schedule to something that was more manageable. Santiago was kind and compassionate in caring for this student and a good example of how student-centered we at RCC strive to be. Thank you, Santiago, for your continued hard work on behalf of our students.

Recognizing: Cody Woolley

Core Values: Collaboration, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Sustainability, Courage

Because: We recently had a student come to TRC who can require extra help at times. Cody always shows compassion and care, ensuring the student trusts her and knows she can be relied upon to assist them. Thank you, Cody, for being an amazing advocate for the students you serve.

Recognizing: Tanya Salas-Gonzalez

Core Values: Courage

Because: It takes courage to stand in front of a classroom (when you’re not an instructor) and give a presentation, especially when it’s not something you do in your everyday work. Tanya worked hard on the PowerPoint presentation to make it concise, insightful and interesting. She was very nervous about presenting the information to a CG100 class but she met that challenge head on and did a great job. The students who got to hear her presentation are now better informed and empowered to be successful and seek assistance.

Recognizing: Andrew Huston

Core Values: Collaboration

Because: I want to acknowledge Instructional Technology Administrator Andrew Huston as a member of the RCC community who exemplifies the core value of collaboration. The GED & Pre-College Education programs utilize an online system called Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) that tests the academic skills of all PCE students and is one of our core metrics for state funding via the Title II Educational Grant. The CASAS system requires plug-ins and subsequent updates to operate correctly in our computer labs so our students can maintain their testing schedule and our program can report the gains our students are making. Recently, Andrew has volunteered to support RCC labs as a pilot site for a new, more secure CASAS testing browser, which will ensure our students a secure test experience and support CASAS testing nationwide. Andrew’s efforts and dedication are examples of a productive inter-departmental partnership that benefits students and strengthens our learning communities.

Recognizing: Jaci Jones

Core Values: Integrity, Collaboration

Because: I had a meeting today with a potential student. They were very excited about our appointment because Jaci had made such a great first impression. They said, “Jaci was so welcoming! Our conversation flowed so easy, and I felt like we were old friends. I couldn’t wait to make more connections like this at RCC.” She is always willing to jump right into problem-solving or event setup and take down. We love her!

Recognizing: Elizabeth Butler

Core Values: Integrity, Collaboration, Sustainability, Courage

Because: Liz is our bestie! She has been a lifesaver in so many ways but recently she is a ray of light in the dark tunnel of Jenzabar meetings. She can be counted on to keep track of what’s happening and when the rest of us are trying to make sense of it, she is the brave one who voices the question. We love her! Three cheers for Liz!
