New High School Partnerships Transition Specialist

Raelyn Horton, who also goes by Rae, is so grateful to be back at RCC! She previously worked in ABS as an administrative assistant and left to take care of her kids and go back to school. While working for RCC, Rae earned an associate degree. When she stayed home with her kids, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in teaching from SOU. She taught elementary school for several years but when the opportunity arose to return to RCC, she jumped at it!

Rae is excited to be working with High School Partnerships and to help encourage students to get a head start on college courses. She’s also continuing to teach and help support students who are working on earning their GED® through the Adult Basic Skills program. She has spent some amazing time working in advising where she learned so much about RCC. Rae loves to cheer people on and help them see that they really can accomplish their goals in life through education!

When she’s not working, Rae is spending time with her family. She has a wonderful husband who she’s been with for 16 years and they have an almost-14-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. They love to go to the lake with friends and their crazy dog, go on hikes and go out for pizza!

Rae looks forward to seeing some familiar faces and to meeting new people here at RCC!
