The League Excellence Awards recognize employees whose work exemplifies outstanding teaching or leadership. RCC will select two honorees — one for Teaching Excellence and one for Leadership Excellence — who will receive both local and national recognition.
Connecting Excellence to RCC’s College Priorities
Each fall at Kick-Off, President Weber shares RCC’s College Priorities — focused annual goals that move our seven-year strategic plan forward. Across the college, employees are already bringing these priorities to life through their everyday work, new ideas, collaboration and leadership.
The Excellence Awards are an opportunity to recognize those efforts and shine a light on employees who are finding meaningful and impactful ways to advance RCC’s priorities and mission.
About the Awards
- Teaching Excellence may be demonstrated through practices that inspire learning, foster student success and create meaningful educational experiences. Excellence may come from any instructional activity.
- Leadership Excellence is not limited to employees in formal leadership positions. Leadership may be demonstrated through initiative, collaboration, innovation, mentorship, advocacy, operational excellence or other meaningful contributions that advance RCC’s mission and effectiveness.
- RCC’s two honorees will be celebrated locally during Employee Appreciation Week and Spring Inservice and recognized nationally by the League for Innovation, including an invitation to attend the League’s annual conference.
- Nominations are open now through Oct. 23. Final selections will be made in November by RCC’s Executive Team, with RCC’s honorees submitted to the League shortly after.

Consider the colleagues who are advancing Student Success, Employee Connectedness, Community Partnerships, Systems Thinking or Stabilizing Enrollment — whether through a major initiative, an innovative approach, exceptional teaching, strong collaboration or simply consistently excellent work.
