RCC Continues to Grow Amid Capacity Challenges

Enrollment data highlights strong demand and facility constraints

JACKSON and JOSEPHINE counties (Nov. 25, 2025) — Enrollment continues to climb at Rogue Community College (RCC), marking the fifth consecutive year of growth since the COVID-19 pandemic. RCC’s fourth-week headcount this fall was 5,560 students, a 7% increase over fall 2024, according to enrollment data from the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC).

Headcount represents the number of individual students enrolled at the college, including those taking credit and non-credit courses. In fall 2024, RCC’s fourth-week headcount was 5,193 students.

This fall marks the first time that RCC’s full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels, with a fourth-week FTE of 1,349 compared to 1,271in 2019. FTE is a standard metric that converts the total course load of part-time and full-time students into the equivalent number of full-time students. The college’s 52% growth in FTE over the past four fall terms triples the state average of 17%, earning RCC the distinction as the state’s fastest growing college over this period.

“The need for skilled graduates in our region has never been greater, and Rogue Community College is proud to help meet that need,” said RCC President Randy Weber. “As enrollment continues to grow, we’re eager to support the community’s increasing demand.  Our challenge now is space — we’re at or near capacity in many areas due to shifts in program enrollments.”

RCC’s continued growth reflects its strong alignment with community and industry needs. The college’s innovative programs and partnerships — particularly in high-demand fields such as health care, manufacturing and technology — are helping students prepare for meaningful, well-paying careers close to home.

While community demand remains strong, RCC’s ability to expand access is constrained by state funding caps under the growth management formula and by space and facility limitations across its campuses, such as a need for science lab space at Table Rock Campus to support expanding healthcare programs.
