Scholars and Stripes Golf Tournament to Support Veterans

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Military Resource Center (MRC) is hosting the Scholars and Stripes Golf Tournament at the Resort at Eagle Point on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024. RCC’s Military Services Department and MRC present this fundraising golf tournament in support of a scholarship fund for student veterans, spouses and their families.

While military students receive education benefits through the GI Bill®, there are often unforeseen expenses that can disrupt their academic journey. The scholarship fund created by the Military Services Department and the RCC Foundation seeks to bridge this gap by providing assistance for various needs. From housing and utility bills to childcare, auto repairs and emergency funds, this program is designed to alleviate financial stressors and empower students to focus on their studies.

Those who participate in the tournament or sponsor the event help support military students and their families facing financial challenges.

“Not only does this tournament promise a day of enjoyable golfing, but it also embodies the spirit of giving back to those who have served our country. Support, whether as a player or a sponsor, will help make a difference in the lives of student veterans,” says RCC Foundation Executive Director Dan Ruby.
