At Rogue Community College, we believe in the power of education and support our students every day in ways both big and small. RCC has a long history of faculty and staff who not only dedicate themselves to student success but also choose to strengthen that impact through charitable giving. These employees are known as Rogue Heroes.
The Rogue Hero Campaign started in 2011 and has continued to grow over the years. In just the past five years, staff members have contributed over $135,000 to:
- Fund scholarships.
- Support special projects.
- Empower student clubs.
- Provide emergency assistance for food, housing, and other needs.
Every dollar donated, whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly donation through payroll deduction, goes directly towards helping students succeed!
The RCC Foundation is so grateful for all our Rogue Heroes who make such a big difference, and we’re excited to recognize them. That’s why we launched our Rogue Hero Spotlight in January 2026.
This month, we are highlighting Rogue Hero Natalie Herklotz.

What made you decide to participate for the first time?
As a Rogue alum, I wanted to pay it forward. I believe strongly in the power of education to change lives, and contributing felt like a meaningful way to support others working to improve their future. If I have the ability to make a positive difference, why would I choose any other path?
What makes you proud to be an employee donor?
Seeing our graduates walk across the stage each year reminds me why I give — it’s incredibly rewarding to know I had a small role in their dreams becoming reality. Our students’ stories are all the inspiration I need; they are the reason I’ve stayed at Rogue for nearly 30 years.
How do you feel employee giving contributes to student success?
Employee giving sends a powerful message to students that we believe in them enough to personally invest in their journey. Feeling supported builds confidence and momentum, and that can translate directly into student success.
What would you say to a colleague who’s considering donating?
Give what you can, where you can and when you can. A small donation becomes part of making a bigger difference. But a bigger donation is even better!
Is there anything else you would like to add about Rogue Heroes?
One defining characteristic of a hero is selfless actions that benefit others. Rogue Heroes embodies that spirit. Giving is a simple way to make a direct impact for our students — and it truly feels great to be part of that.
