At Rogue Community College, we believe in the power of education and support our students every day in ways both big and small. RCC has a long history of faculty and staff who not only dedicate themselves to student success but choose to strengthen that impact through charitable giving. These employees are known as Rogue Heroes.
The “Rogue Hero Campaign” started in 2011 and has continued to grow over the years. In just the past five years, staff members have contributed over $135,000 to:
- Fund scholarships
- Support special projects
- Empower student clubs
- Provide emergency assistance for food, housing, and other needs
Every dollar donated, whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly donation through payroll deduction, goes directly towards helping students succeed!
The RCC Foundation is so grateful for all our Rogue Heroes that make such a big difference, and we’re excited to recognize them. That’s why we launched our Rogue Hero Spotlight in January 2026.

This month, we are highlighting Rogue Hero Lisa Stanton
Years at RCC: 29
Department and Title: Vice President of Operations and Finance/COO
What made you decide to participate for the first time?
I chose to participate because I believe deeply in RCC’s mission and in the role the college plays in our community. After 29 years at RCC, I have seen the impact we can have on students, families and our region. Supporting Rogue Heroes is one more way for me to invest in work I believe in, and in the students we are here to serve.
What makes you proud to be an employee donor?
I am proud to support an organization that has been such an important part of both my career and our community. RCC has given me opportunities to learn, grow, and take on new challenges throughout my 29 years here. Being an employee donor is a way to support those same kinds of opportunities for our students and to demonstrate that I believe in the work we ask others to support.
How do you feel employee giving contributes to student success?
Employee giving is another way we can directly invest in student success. Those contributions can help provide resources, remove barriers, and create opportunities that may not otherwise be available. I also think there is something meaningful about employees choosing to personally support the mission of the college. It shows our students and our community that we believe in the work we are doing and in the people we serve.
What would you say to a colleague who’s considering donating?
I would encourage them to participate in whatever way and at whatever level makes sense for them. The value is not in the size of the gift; it is in collectively supporting our students and the mission of RCC. When many of us participate, those individual contributions become something much larger and can have a real impact.
Is there anything else you would like to add about Rogue Heroes?
For me, Rogue Heroes is about more than fundraising. It is another reflection of our commitment to RCC, our students and the communities we serve. I have spent 29 years here because I believe in the mission and values of the college. RCC has also given me tremendous opportunities to learn and grow, and I value the opportunity to help create those same possibilities for others.
Joining is simple and makes a real difference. Whether it’s $5 once or $10+ monthly, your gift supports RCC students working toward a better future.
