The RCC website redesign project continues to make strong progress, and the Marketing & Communications team would like to share a brief update as the project enters its final stages.
Much of the site’s new content has been developed, and work is now focused on content migration, quality assurance testing and final launch preparations.
After reviewing overall project readiness, the website launch date has been moved from June 30 to July 27. The additional time will allow for completion of migration work, more thorough testing and final preparation for launch. The goal is to launch a website that provides the best possible experience for students, employees and community members.
The redesigned website will reflect RCC’s updated brand while strengthening its role as a clear, welcoming and effective front door for students.
Why is the website changing? Over time, the current website has grown to include more than 4,000 pages, making it increasingly difficult for students to find the information they need. The new site is intentionally streamlined and program-focused, making it easier for prospective and current students to explore programs, understand costs, identify career pathways and access the resources they need to succeed.
The new website represents a tremendous amount of collaboration across the college. Thank you to the many faculty and staff members who participated in surveys, focus groups, planning discussions and content reviews throughout this process. Your feedback has shaped the new site in meaningful ways.
As employees explore the new website after launch, they will notice changes to navigation and content organization. Some pages have been consolidated, relocated or removed as part of an effort to create a more streamlined, student-centered experience and reduce duplication across the site.
The Marketing & Communications team recognizes that any major website change comes with questions and a period of adjustment. To support employees during the transition, post-launch drop-in workshops will be offered to provide a tour of the new website, highlight key changes, and answer questions.
To help ensure a smooth transition, URL redirects will be in place so that many existing links continue to function after launch. Employees are encouraged to update bookmarks as they discover new page locations.
Thank you again for your partnership, patience and support as this important project moves toward launch. The Marketing & Communications team looks forward to sharing the new website with the college community later this summer.
Attention Needed: Review Department Materials
As we prepare for the new website launch, all departments are asked to review printed and digital publications for content that references the current website.
Please audit your materials for:
- Screenshots of webpages.
- Step-by-step instructions for browsing or completing tasks on the current website.
- Links, QR codes, navigation references or visual cues that may no longer match the new site’s structure or design.
These items may need to be updated to ensure they remain accurate, accessible and aligned with the new website experience and RCC brand.
What to Do Next
If you identify affected materials, please submit a Marketing work order and attach any relevant files, including documents, PDFs, images or screenshots.
Submitting a work order will allow the Marketing & Communications team to:
- Update materials to align with the new website design and brand standards.
- Revise instructions and processes to reflect the new website experience.
- Prioritize updates ahead of the July launch.
Early submissions are encouraged to allow adequate time for review and revisions.
Thank you for helping ensure RCC materials remain clear, current and consistent.
