Assistance for Employees and Students Who Will Lose SNAP Benefits

During this difficult time, we know many in our campus community are significantly impacted by loss of critical support allowing them to learn and work at RCC. Many concerned employees have asked about ways we can support those we care about. With that in mind, we’d like to share an opportunity and information developed for those in need.

Any employees who feel compelled to help are invited to donate a gift to the RCC Foundation. You can contribute to creating an Employee Emergency Fund or support our Student Emergency Funds, which will provide critical assistance to members of our RCC family who may be affected by the potential loss of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the federal shutdown.

If you would like to contribute, please visit the RCC Foundation website where you’ll find the “DONATE” button in the upper right corner of the page. When making your donation, be sure to note in the information line that your gift is designated for the Employee Emergency Fund or the Student Emergency Fund.

Thank you all for all that you do every day to make RCC a wonderful place for our students — and for one another. Your generosity and care truly make a difference.

For more information, contact Cass Sinclair via Teams or email.

We also want to remind you that Ossie’s Cupboard is available to all RCC employees as well as current students. Ossie’s Cupboard is a free food pantry and hygiene supply service at Redwood and Table Rock campuses in partnership with the Oregon Food Bank. Stop by when the cupboard is open or order online. Bring your RCC ID or a current student schedule.

We have many community resources listed on the RCC Advocacy & Resource Center (ARC) website — roguecc.edu/arc — including healthcare, housing and utility assistance as well as food resources.

Another way to help: The ARC is running a friendly campus-vs-campus food drive this November.

RCC Resource Coordinator Susan Bame has been posting frequent updates about resources on the RCC Campus App, which you can download from your mobile app store by searching for “Rogue Community College.” Log in to the app with your RCC username and password.
