As the Director of Risk Management, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Campus Security Officer James Baehr for his diligence, professionalism and proactive efforts in maintaining the safety of our campuses.
In collaboration with the Medford Police Department, his vigilant response recently led to the identification and arrest of an individual wanted in connection with a theft on campus. Thanks to this coordinated effort, the individual was also found to be in possession of a weapon and multiple types of illegal drugs while on college property.
I also want to shine a light on the continued diligence and dedication demonstrated by all RCC Campus Security Officers, whose work is essential to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment. In today’s world, RCC Campus Security Officers face a wide range of challenges, including the growing complexities of mental health crises, the impacts of drug addiction and the evolving nature of criminal activity. Each of these requires exceptional awareness, compassion, professionalism and resilience. Our officers consistently rise to meet these demands, working tirelessly to protect our students, employees and community. I am deeply grateful for their unwavering service, commitment and partnership in maintaining campus safety.
