If you are holding a class, meeting, orientation, event, training or other activity in a college space, please make sure it is accurately reflected in 25Live. This applies even if the space is department-use only.
This is important. If an activity is not in 25Live, college systems and staff may have no way of knowing that the space is scheduled to be occupied.
Campus Security uses 25Live schedules to manage building and room access. For doors equipped with electronic card readers, unlock and lock times are programmed around the schedules shown in 25Live. If nothing is scheduled, the door may remain locked. Campus Security is regularly receiving requests to unlock or keep buildings and rooms open for activities that are not reflected in 25Live.
Accurate scheduling is also important for emergency preparedness and response. During an emergency, knowing which buildings and spaces are scheduled for use helps RCC understand where people may be located and which areas may be occupied. That information can help inform emergency response, evacuation, accountability and communication efforts. If an activity is taking place but is not reflected in 25Live, responders may not have that information when it is needed.
25Live also affects how college facilities are operated. Building schedules help inform the operation of systems such as heating, air conditioning and lighting. An activity that is not properly scheduled may occur when those systems are not operating as expected.
Just as importantly, 25Live provides RCC with information about how our spaces are actually being used. When classes, meetings, events and other activities are not entered, our utilization data does not accurately reflect the demand for college space. That affects our ability to make informed decisions about classrooms, meeting rooms, building hours and future space needs.
Please check before you use a space
Before using a College room or space, make sure 25Live reflects the correct:
- Room or location
- Date
- Start and end time
If your plans change, please make sure the 25Live information is updated.
The bottom line: If an activity is not accurately reflected in 25Live, do not assume the room or building will be unlocked, heated, cooled or otherwise scheduled for occupancy. It also means RCC may not know that people are expected to be in that location during an emergency.
Accurate scheduling helps Campus Security, Facilities, and emergency responders support your activity while giving RCC an accurate picture of when, where, and how our college spaces are being used.
