RCC Brings Accredited Dental Assisting Program to Josephine County with Redwood Campus Expansion

JACKSON and JOSEPHINE COUNTIES (April 8, 2026) – Rogue Community College has received approval from the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) to offer its accredited Dental Assisting program at the Redwood Campus in Grants Pass, expanding access to the program in Josephine County. The newly approved site will welcome its first cohort beginning fall term 2026.

RCC’s Dental Assisting program was previously accredited and offered at the Table Rock Campus in White City. With CODA approval to operate the program at a second location, students can now complete the same accredited, one-year certificate program at either campus, increasing access to dental education and career training across Southern Oregon.

In addition, RCC offers a two-year Dental Hygiene associate degree program and operates a public dental hygiene clinic at the Table Rock Campus, further supporting workforce development and community oral health.

The Dental Assisting program is a three-term, special admissions program that runs fall, winter and spring terms. Students gain hands-on experience and prepare for careers in dental offices, where they may assist with clinical procedures, take radiographs, manage patient records and perform administrative duties.

Applications are now open for the fall 2026 cohort at both campuses. The application deadline is May 17, 2026.

As part of the application process, prospective students are required to attend a Dental Program Information Session. These sessions provide important details about program requirements, the application process and career pathways in dental assisting.

Upcoming Information Sessions (via Zoom):

  • Friday, April 24, 2-3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 13, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, June 5, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

“This expansion into Josephine County opens the door for more students to pursue a career in dental assisting without having to travel outside their community,” said Carmen Mons, director of RCC Dental Programs. “With accreditation in place, students can feel confident they are receiving high-quality training that prepares them for success in this high-demand field.”

RCC’s Dental Programs are designed to prepare students for in-demand health care careers while meeting industry standards through accredited, hands-on training.
