Rogue Community College will distribute $1.2 million in federal relief funds to eligible students enrolled in spring term classes. This second round of stimulus funding is authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) to support students with exceptional need due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Students enrolled in spring term at RCC may be eligible to receive a one-time grant of $500. RCC is referring to this fund as the COVID Relief Grant II. These grants do not need to be repaid and do not affect a student’s current or future financial aid eligibility.
These emergency assistance grants are in addition to $425,000 in federal relief funds the college distributed to students during winter term. Those funds were provided through the federal CARES Act and the Governor’s Education Emergency Relief (GEER) fund.
To receive the COVID Relief Grant II, students must apply and confirm the funds will be used for education or emergency-related expenses incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as tuition, course materials, food, housing, health care, childcare, transportation or technology-related expenses.
Students may access the application at https://www.roguecc.edu/RCCfinAid/covid.asp. The grants are available on a first come, first served basis. Application processing will begin April 14 and continue until funds are depleted.
