Rogue Community College is welcoming new and returning students back to school this fall with a pair of Welcome Day events from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 15 at the Redwood Campus in Grants Pass and Table Rock Campus in White City. The fun and informative events are aimed at helping students meet RCC faculty and staff and complete college business prior to the first day of fall classes on Sept. 20.
Welcome Day will include campus tours, information tables, a COVID-19 vaccine clinic, barbeque lunch and entertainment. College departments will be open until 5 p.m. to allow students to complete any college business such as advising, financial aid or obtaining a student ID card.
RCC is encouraging students and employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. At each event, the first 150 students to show their completed proof of vaccination card will receive an RCC prize bag. Prize bags may include RCC gear, a $250 gift card, a laptop computer or the grand prize — free tuition for one year, including $500 per term for books and supplies.
Participants should check in outside the Wiseman Building on the Redwood Campus, 3345 Redwood Highway in Grants Pass; or at the front entrance of the Table Rock Campus, 7800 Pacific Ave., White City. The college continues to offer classes at the Riverside Campus in downtown Medford, but that campus will not host a Welcome Day event this year.
Students are encouraged to preregister for Welcome Day at roguecc.edu/welcome. Participants should bring their student ID number, any forms needed to complete college business and completed proof of COVID-19 vaccination card to be eligible for vaccine incentive prizes. Vaccination is not required. However, masks are required for all indoor activities as well as outdoor spaces where social distance cannot be maintained, in compliance with state mandates.
The last day to apply for fall admission to RCC is Sept. 15. Classes begin Sept. 20, and the final day for admitted students to register is Sept. 24.
