RCC SBDC to relocate in January 2022

GRANTS PASS — The Rogue Community College Small Business Development Center, which has assisted thousands of emerging and growing local businesses since 1984, is slated to move from downtown Grants Pass to the Redwood Campus in January 2022.

“RCC is committed to utilizing our resources in ways that enable us to continue to support our students, clients and community, which is why we are relocating the SBDC to the Redwood Campus in January,” said President Cathy Kemper-Pelle. “We must model the advice that we give to our business clients.”

Earlier this year, the college sold the SBDC’s longtime home — the Historic City Hall building at 214 S.W. Fourth Street — for $1.06 million. The college also has listed for sale several buildings in downtown Medford in a plan to reduce facility costs while maintaining staff and services that directly benefit students.

The SBDC has continued to serve small businesses via phone and Zoom appointments throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, though the office has been closed since mid-March 2020. Over the past 17 months, the SBDC has supported more than 850 clients with crisis services including COVID-19 relief grants, loan applications and creative strategies necessary to start or grow their businesses during these economically uncertain times.

The SBDC will relocate in January to the Redwood Campus near the Redwood Highway entrance for ease of access, adequate free parking and additional meeting and classroom space.

Since 1984, the RCC SBDC has assisted thousands of area businesses with tools, resources and unparalleled expertise. The center’s business advisers have well over 100 years of experience serving businesses in Grants Pass and helping businesses weather ever-changing marketplace trends including the devastating impact of the current pandemic.

Services offered by the SBDC include advising, training, strategic planning, counseling, finance and accounting, online marketing, access to capital, government contracting, business operations, human resources, branding, communications, mentoring, revenue growth strategies, small business management, and access to credentialed industry experts.
