Jackson and Josephine counties — Rogue Community College (RCC) is hosting two free open-house events this month to introduce the public to the college’s academic programming and support services.
Events are scheduled from 3-6 p.m. on different dates: May 16 on the Redwood Campus (3345 Redwood Highway, Grants Pass) and May 18 at the Table Rock Campus (7800 Pacific Ave., White City). In addition to receiving information on community college, attending individuals and families may enjoy free ice cream, cotton candy, food and fun activities – including an inflatable obstacle course and an immersive game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.
Campus visitors will be able to meet instructors, talk with admissions specialists, tour the campus, learn about the application process and discover ways to pay for college through financial aid, scholarships and military veteran benefits. Summer and fall term registration will be open to new students on May 16 and enrollment assistance will be available at the open houses.
Guests will learn more about RCC’s short-term certificate programs that lead to high-paying technical careers in manufacturing and health care, transfer programs to four-year colleges and universities, continuing education and professional development offerings, as well as non-credit opportunities for adult and senior learners.
In addition to receiving answers about the RCC experience, attendees will be able to see behind-the-scenes guided tours of many of the college’s high-tech labs and classrooms.
“Several guests who attended our open house last fall shared how impressed they were, both with our state-of-the-art facilities and the warm welcome they received from campus staff and faculty,” said Tiffany Malsberger, director of admissions and recruitment for the college. “The one comment I heard most often is that RCC is one of the best kept secrets in the Valley!”
