Rogue Community College is taking steps to modernize how we present ourselves to the world — and it all begins with our website and visual brand. Led by the Marketing & Communications Team in partnership with an outside agency, the website redesign and brand evolution projects are progressing on schedule and are designed to align RCC’s image with the innovation, quality and community impact happening across the college.
Partnering with an external agency has provided RCC with dedicated support at a time when internal resources are focused on other major initiatives, such as the Jenzabar ERP rollout and new communications efforts from the President’s Office to enhance how we tell RCC’s story. This collaboration allows our talented internal team to continue managing day-to-day communications while driving forward key strategic priorities.
Why Now?
It’s been 15 years since RCC revisited and updated its visual identity, and A LOT has changed since then! As RCC prepares to unveil its new website in June 2026, this moment offers an ideal opportunity to refresh other aspects of our brand as well. The redesign ensures our online presence reflects who we are today — a forward-looking, student-centered college — and positions RCC as a trusted, invaluable resource in the Rogue Valley. Our branding should mirror that confidence and progress, especially as we engage the community for continued support.
Website Redesign: Building a Better Digital Front Door
The website serves as RCC’s “front door” — often the first interaction prospective students and community members have with the college. The goal is to create a more student-focused, accessible and engaging experience that makes it easy for users to find information, navigate services and feel welcomed from their very first visit.
This project began in May 2025 with an extensive discovery phase, which included nearly 300 survey responses and multiple focus groups with students, faculty, staff and community members. The team also analyzed institutional data and RCC’s strategic plan to align the website’s structure with user needs and college priorities.
The project is currently in the planning and design phase, with user testing underway. Next steps include development, content migration and training, all leading toward a June 2026 launch.

Brand Evolution: Honoring Tradition, Embracing Modernity
In tandem with the website redesign, RCC is evolving its visual identity — updating the logo, tagline, typography and color palette to better represent who we are today. The refreshed look will balance tradition and modernity, combining a classic serif for credibility and trust with a clean sans serif for a contemporary feel.
The logo design is in progress, with a final concept coming soon. It is meant to incorporate symbolism drawn from the regional landscape, representing stability, strength and discovery, while moving away from literal depictions. The goal is a logo that feels modern, flexible and recognizable, ensuring consistency and accessibility across all platforms.
As Rogue Community College evolves its visual identity, it’s worth asking — what makes a logo truly successful?
Three key ingredients behind effective, lasting design:
- Simplicity & Memorability
The best logos are clear, clean and easy to recognize. Simplicity ensures the design looks great whether it’s on a billboard, a sweatshirt or a smartphone screen — and that people remember it after one glance. - Relevance & Meaning
A great logo reflects who we are and what we stand for. Its colors, shapes and typography should capture the organization’s spirit, values and purpose in a way that feels authentic and familiar. - Timelessness & Flexibility
Trends come and go, but strong logos endure. A timeless design adapts easily across platforms — digital, print and signage — maintaining its integrity for years to come.
Bottom line: A successful logo is simple enough to remember, meaningful enough to represent and timeless enough to endure.
The four-phase brand evolution process:
- Workshop with the MarComm team
- Development of initial concepts
- Refinement based on feedback from the executive team and board
- Finalization of the system, including guidelines for colors, typography, templates, tagline and collateral
What’s Next
Over the coming months, the Marketing & Communications team will:
- Finalize the logo and brand system
- Develop visual identity guidelines that define the new look across all materials
- Coordinate a unified rollout timed with the June 2026 website launch
Together, these projects will ensure RCC’s brand and digital presence reflect the excellence, innovation and inclusivity that define our community. They will embody our shared values of collaboration, integrity, equity and courage, while strengthening our connection to students and the region we serve.
