“It’s not so hard, after you’ve lost a son.”
Those words were spoken to Sam Lewis by a client during one of the most difficult moments a pet owner can face, and they permanently shaped how he views this profession. He became a veterinarian to care for animals by supporting the people who love them. That philosophy ultimately led him to found Rogue Valley Veterinary Emergency (RVVE).
RVVE operates on a transparent care model that allows clients to remain with their pets whenever possible during treatment and hospitalization. With advanced diagnostics — including ultrasound, endoscopy and digital radiology — 24-hour staffing and a fully equipped surgical suite, the team is prepared to support patients through both routine emergencies and life-threatening illness.
Sam looks forward to sharing his experiences and discussing how clarity, transparency and compassion can coexist in modern emergency veterinary medicine.
