Student Nurse Association Hosts First Open Lab, Draws Students from All Levels

The RCC Student Nurse Association (SNA) made history this term by hosting its first-ever open lab session—and the response exceeded all expectations. Students from four different nursing cohorts showed up to practice clinical skills, support one another and build community across program levels.

From recently-admitted students who have yet to begin classes to second-year students, the lab buzzed with peer-to-peer teaching, shared tips and hands-on practice. The event not only reinforced clinical confidence but also fostered a stronger sense of connection across the program.

Faculty are applauding the initiative, noting how it supports academic success and professional development. The SNA has already planned additional open labs in August and September. Stay tuned—this student-led movement is just getting started!
