Teaching and Learning Playbook Series Expanded and Updated

Need a summer reading list? We’ve got five recommendations.

The Teaching and Learning Center is excited to announce the release of the Online Teaching and Learning Playbook, a new addition to our Teaching and Learning Playbook Series. The playbook will be officially added to the RCC Intranet soon, but we’re making it available now as a preview resource for faculty.

Preview the Online Teaching and Learning Playbook

The Online Teaching and Learning Playbook adapts the core ideas of RCC’s Teaching and Learning Framework to the online environment, offering practical strategies for building community and presence, creating clear course structures, promoting engagement and interaction, and supporting learning through feedback and improvement.

Alongside this new resource, we have also completed a comprehensive revision of our four existing Teaching and Learning Playbooks. These updates include expanded content, improved organization, enhanced accessibility, and updated self-reflection rubrics to better support faculty growth and course development.

Explore the updated playbooks:

Classroom Climate Playbook
Creating the conditions for learning through community building, clear expectations, collaboration, and inclusive learning environments.

Instructional Planning and Design
Designing meaningful learning experiences through intentional course planning, alignment, scaffolding, and accessible course design.

Active Learning and Engagement
Helping students actively participate, reflect, collaborate, and apply their learning through evidence-informed instructional strategies.

Evaluating and Improving Student Learning
Using formative assessment, feedback, summative assessment, and equitable evaluation practices to support student growth.

Whether you’re exploring a new teaching strategy, redesigning a course, or looking for practical ideas to support student success, the Teaching and Learning Playbook Series offers actionable resources grounded in RCC’s Teaching and Learning Framework.

This summer, we invite you to explore the updated collection and share your feedback as we continue developing resources that support teaching and learning excellence across our college.
