FERPA Portal for Students is Live in Jenzabar

We are excited to announce that the Jenzabar FERPA Portal for Students is live!

Students can now log in to their myRogue Student Portal, select “FERPA Consent” in the blue navigation bar, and fill out the online form to request authorized access for an individual or an agency to their student record (academic, financial and/or holds).

Once the FERPA request has been processed by the Registrar’s Office, the individual or agency will be emailed a username and password to log in to their unique FERPA portal where they can view the RCC students who have authorized access to them.

When a student completes the FERPA consent form, access for the authorized representative is not granted instantly. The Registrar’s Office must manually set up each representative’s account. Please allow 5-7 business days for normal processing and additional time for processing at the beginning and the end of each term due to a larger volume of requests received.

Please note: All previous FERPA release forms are now expired. Students who had a previous FERPA release form on file will need to re-request access for their authorized representative(s) in the new FERPA portal in Jenzabar. Staff are no longer authorized to discuss a student’s account with a representative based on the previously used FERPA release form. We will only be recognizing representatives who are in the portal going forward. Please reach out to registrar@roguecc.edu if extenuating circumstances arise with a previously allowed representative.

Additionally, all new FERPA authorizations in Jenzabar are only valid for one calendar year. Students will need to submit a new consent request in the portal each year for each representative. Always check to make sure the representative’s authorization is still active before discussing the student’s account.

The Registrar’s Office has created instructions for students to help them request access for their allowed representative(s) in the new portal. The instructions file can be found in the student’s myRogue portal under “Help” in the blue navigation bar.

The Registrar’s Office has created instructions for staff/faculty to help locate the FERPA release information in J1 (web and desktop), found on the Faculty tab of myRogue or RCC’s Intranet page. Jenzabar has several ways to find the representative’s name, the shared secret password and the list of authorized topics for each representative.

If you have any questions about the new FERPA portal, or if you want a copy of any of the instructions created for the new FERPA portal, or if you need advice about FERPA in general, please email the Registrar’s Office. We’re happy to help! And always remember—when in doubt, don’t give it out!
