At Rogue Community College, we believe in the power of education and support our students every day in ways both big and small. RCC has a long history of faculty and staff who not only dedicate themselves to student success but also choose to strengthen that impact through charitable giving. These employees are known as Rogue Heroes.
The “Rogue Hero Campaign” started in 2011 and has continued to grow over the years. In just the past five years, staff members have contributed over $135,000 to:
- Fund scholarships
- Support special projects
- Empower student clubs
- Provide emergency assistance for food, housing, and other needs
Every dollar donated, whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly donation through payroll deduction, goes directly towards helping students succeed!
The RCC Foundation is so grateful for all our Rogue Heroes who make such a big difference, and we’re excited to recognize them. That’s why we launched our Rogue Hero Spotlight in January 2026.
This month, we are highlighting Rogue Hero Anna Manley.
Years at RCC: 30
Department and Title: Assistant Director then Director of Financial Aid, then Scholarship Coordinator and Interim Executive Director of the RCC Foundation, now Program Specialist for TRIO-SSS (RWC).
What made you decide to participate for the first time?
It made sense to me to give back to students. I knew that when my donation was combined with others’, it would add up to something significant for students.
What makes you proud to be an employee donor?
RCC has given me a lot of opportunities over the years to work shoulder-to-shoulder with some great folks who have big hearts — to give students the opportunity to reach their dreams and dream even bigger than they may have first thought possible. “Community” is our middle name and making a positive impact is our ongoing mission.
How do you feel employee giving contributes to student success?
When we give personally, it allows commitment to thrive. Students know when we care by how we do our best to facilitate their growth.
What would you say to a colleague who’s considering donating?
Jump in and just do it! Setting up a monthly auto deduction from your paycheck is easy. If everyone gives even $5 or $20 or $100 a month, the blessing compounds! With a background in financial aid and scholarships, I’ve read the student applications and thank-you letters and know how impactful it is to get the financial and emotional support that comes with an award letter or scholarship notification!
Is there anything else you would like to add about Rogue Heroes?
We may never know what our contribution meant to someone, but we can rest assured that the investment will pay dividends to individuals, families and communities that live beyond our lifetime.
